St. Nicholas Visited !

St. Nicholas visited our class!! He left 1-C some cool pencils and erasers for school :) 

Holidays Around the World- Holland

     On Friday, we talked about Hollands Holiday Traditions. Children in Holland, make a wooden shoe, stuffed with carrots and wheat to leave for St. Nicholas and his white horse. In return, goodies are left for the children.

 In 1-C, we were able to do the same!! I hope St. Nicholas in Holland was able to visit our classroom and leave some treats for us too :) 

Small Moment Celebration

Today we celebrated publishing our Small Moment stories! We were so excited to share our stories with all of our friends :) 

Halloween in the First Grade

Happy Halloween from 1-C!!
 We had a fun afternoon marching in the parade and even enjoyed a Halloween party! 

Reading Strategies

1-C has been working on figuring out tricky words while reading. Students were able to present their favorite reading strategy to the class. It was a great morning :)

Week of Respect

This week at Norwood Public School we are celebrating RESPECT. Today, we practiced being respectful and kind to others!! All the first graders in Ms. Cormican's class showed respect to one another and earned a special certificate. Keep up the great work 1-C!!
