Today, the first grade was lucky enough to meet with Pat Luttrell the author of Picasso-ville. After listening and learning about her book, 1-C was able to draw their own Picasso inspired artwork. It was a very special day!! A big thank you PTO :)

Valentine's Day and 100 Day Celebration!
Today 1-C was able to celebrate both Valentine's Day and The 100th Day of School.
We had a delicious bagel and fruit breakfast to celebrate Valentine's Day. All the children also made special cards for eachother.
For the 100th Day of school, we received "Smarties" to begin our day. Throughout the day, we built a pyramid with 100 cups, painted 100 dots, and even made special 100 day hats!!
It was a FUN filled day!!!

Reader's Theater in the First Grade
1-C has been working on their fluency skills. In order to become a fluent reader, the first grade put on plays. We made backgrounds, practiced scripts, and even made puppets. Everyone did a great job!!
